New Japan Pro Wrestling hosted their G1 Special in the Cow Palace in California. The event was headlined by the International Wrestling Grand Prix World Heavyweight Championship match where “American Nightmare” Cody challenged Kenny Omega.
The historic venue is known to host violent entertainment events in Daly City, right by San Francisco. The Bay Area is a hot spot for tourist attractions, being a center point of Northern California.
Hirooki Goto successfully defended his NEVER Open-Weight Championship against Jeff Cobb.
Juice Robinson won the IWGP United States Championship from “Switchblade” Jay White.
Hiromu Takahashi successfully defended his IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship against Dragon Lee, 2018 King of Indies winner.
The Young Bucks successfully defended the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship against Los Ingonerbles de Japon’s EVIL and SANADA.
Kenny Omega successfully defended he IWGP Heavyweight Championship against “American Nightmare” Cody, who came out with Brandi Rhodes to a royal entrance.
Omega hit a One Winged Angel on Cody to keep him down.
The Bullet Club had a falling out with three of their members attacking the others from behind. Tonga Loa, Tama Tonga, and King Haku attacked The Young bucks, and Kenny Omega after Omega’s Championship Match. Adam Page and Marty Scurll were not able to save them. Chase Owens and Yujiro Takahashi took a beating by the hands of the trio.
Cody, returned after the match to the ring. He stepped in the business of the Bullet Club and tried to kick down the door, but was slammed out. Omega took a piledriver from King Haku, as Tonga Loa and Tama Tonga, his two sons, watched and helped beat down the unsuspecting Bullet Club members.

Kazuchika Okada and Will Ospreay defeated BUSHI and Tetsuya Naito in a tag match.
Tomohiro Ishii and Toru Yano defeated Zack Sabre Jr. and Minoru Suzuki in a tag match.
